that one night

5:16 AM

it was dark. it was cold. we were all confused, but mostly sleepy and tired. at that time, there were so many questions were running through our head, that's for sure. but it was that night [i am not sure about others] ,a night that i can never,  ever, forget. that. one. night.

it was my school's annual camping, where all form 1, 2, 3 and 4 students were obliged to go, while form 5  can take their exams peacefully. it was our last night there when suddenly, we form 3 students were told to stay while others can go and prepare to sleep. it was weirdly nerve-racking i tell ya. while we were waiting, i thought of all kinds of questions "did we do something bad?" "is this like a detention or what?" "are we getting punished or something?" "is this a hidden camera?[LOL xD]"

nevertheless, we were then divided into 2 groups, one, the girls and another, the boys. we girls went to the back of the boys and we simply just turn our back and that's how we were separated. i don't really know what happened to the boys even though they were only behind us and i can't really remember the details of that night but there were three moments that successfully hit my heart, hard. the first one is when our muallim asked us questions like "who did this this this?" and. "who did that that that?" and that those people who did those things, to step out and come to the front before who-knows-what. so yeah, it went on like that till finally, none seems to step out anymore. so for that, muallim instructed us, the others to leave and go prepare to sleep like how we should do in the first place.

BUT THEN.

when we were walking towards our dorm, a muallimah stopped us and boldly said "so this is your ukhuwwah? you are all at fault too actually but your friends are taking the blame for you and you guys didn't help at all or at least defend them?" man, this gave me an instant wake up call that made me realized what's this all about. so i went back with husna, hanisah and engku to join those who step out and thus, eventually, the whole batch followed.

so yeah of course lah muallim asked us why we came back? and so husna shouted "cause we're also guilty, sir" [it's camping, so yeah we have to use formalities here] and then muallim said back "guilty for what?" then i shouted "cause we didn't do anything about their mistakes, sir"

yup, that was the thing that i realized when that muallimah stopped us from going back to our dorms. it's not about who did this and who did that. that's normal, people do mistakes. nobody's perfect, ait? so, it's actually about those who didn't do anything about it, those who knew their friends did something wrong but then they keep it to themselves. at that time, all i can think of is "shame on me. seriously."

cause a true friendship, a true ukhuwwah, is when each other prevent the other one from doing something wrong and also help each other to be closer to Allah. not encouraging each other to do something wrong or letting the other one stay in the wrong way. nahi munkar. it shouldn't be implemented in ourselves only, but also towards others. we should help others to do the things that Allah has instructed and also help others to not to do the things that Allah forbidden. now that's, ukhuwwah :) #NoteToMyself #ReminderToEveryone especially  to all #Ohana4Teen and #AnakSoleh members of #AlAminBangi ;)
